CEREC 3D® technology is revolutionary to dentistry because it creates a beautiful, durable, and aesthetically pleasing ceramic restoration that is precisely bonded to the tooth. This is accomplished by digitally scanning the prepared tooth and then using powerful 3D software to customize the restoration so that it precisely fits the original tooth! Once our doctors have completed the the design, your restoration will be created immediately using a special milling device right in the office.

One of the major advantages of the CEREC 3D® process is that it can be done quickly and minimizes the number of visits you must make to our office. In the past, creating crowns and bridges required us to take an impression of your tooth. This process was invariably messy and required you to come back for a second visit after we had a chance to create the crown or bridge from that impression. Now, thanks to CEREC 3D® your restoration can be made while you wait! This eliminates the need to wear temporary crowns as well as the need for multiple visits. Plus, you can have more than one tooth done at once, so that you can save even more time! Another advantage is that since CEREC 3D ®allows us to precisely design your restorations, we can minimize further trauma and the needless removal of healthy tooth structure as in traditional crowns.

Diagnodent ®

The Diagnodent ® is an FDA-approved diagnostic laser that is used primarily to locate decay below the chewing surfaces of back teeth in deep grooves and pits. These areas can have decay that is virtually impossible to detect with routine dental instruments.

The Diagnodent’s ® laser will detect decay-producing bacteria and give a digital readout to guide the dentist to take the appropriate action: no treatment, sealant/preventive resin or a long-term bonded restoration. It takes only minutes to scan these surfaces and there is no sensation or discomfort when it is being used. It is wonderful to finally be able to predictably know when to treat a tooth and when not to.
